Me, my daughter and my husband (August 2019)

I was born and raised in Edmonton, and fell in love with piano when I was 5 years old. I quickly moved through the RCM program, and began teaching when I was 14. Today, I have over 40 years of experience teaching piano and music theory! The grand piano that I teach on today, was actually a gift from my father when I graduated high school, and is an important piece in both my life and the Studio.

Providing you with a brief history, through my teens, I accompanied numerous ballet classes at dance studios throughout the city. In my twenties, I continued to teach, and I always hoped that one day I’d be able to have a studio of my own. In my thirties, after my daughter was born, my dream came true. I turned teaching music into my career. In the early 90s, my husband, daughter, and I moved to Ottawa and I built a studio with over 100 students! When we returned to Edmonton in 1997, I started again - teaching piano privately and through the Music For Young Children program, building a large studio with constant flow of children, teens, adults, and seniors in our home.

It’s always been so enjoyable for me, and energizing. Beyond teaching lessons, I’ve always enjoyed getting to know the students, their families, and hosting recitals, gatherings, and organizing volunteer events.

With experience teaching toddlers, teens, young adults, and mature adults, I love bringing music into everyone’s lives. In my opinion, you’re never too old to learn or improve your skills, and I genuinely looking forward to working with you too.
